I opened a post office bank account in January 2020. They gave me one year to complete my KYC. I already have 2 bank accounts with private lenders. I just opened the account to transfer money in my daughters Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA). SSA is an account for girls and government give maximum rate of interest rate on such account.
So, the thing is I failed to complete my KYC on time and exactly after one year post office closed my account. Thereafter, I was not able to login in that account. I went to post office near my place to understand the reason why I am not able enter in my account. They told me that I have failed to complete my KYC on time..so they have closed my account.
I asked bank to complete my KYC and restart my account. The bank said KYC for postal payment bank can be done at head office. So, I went to head office. They completed my KYC and told me to wait for 72 hours. I waited for more than a week but my account did not start.
I dropped a mail to post office customer care. They replied that my account has been closed and you have to visit the head office again to open new account. So, I went to post office on second Saturday. The post office was opened but post bank was closed due to the second Saturday of the month. They asked me to come again.
During the process, I first went to post office near my home, than head office 2-3 times in my car. I travelled at least 50 kms to and fro to get re started my account.
Now, I will again go to head post office on coming Saturday. Let’s see whether I will be able to get re started my account or not. The to and fro distance between my home and head office of post office is nearly 30 Km. It means I am spending more than $2 for each trip to post office.
Lesson: Stitch in time save nine. Guys, complete you task on time.
Thanks
